With the growing popularity of cycling, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) was expanding its bike facilities to help customers combine biking with transit. This cuts costs for commuters and the burden on parking lots.
We created a family of names and bike icons to identify and guide bikers to the new facilities. A brochure explains the “types” of bicycle parking, shows how to put bikes on bus racks and includes MBTA rules. In addition, we updated the MBTA website with options for bikes on the subway, train, ferry and bus.
